There are many events in one’s life that need to be celebrated, and when such times occur, it’s quite likely that you’re extremely excited awaiting the big event. Whether it’s an anniversary, school end or your next trip abroad, Countdown can be used to track how much time there’s left until the big day.

The app comes with a pretty simple interface that’s extremely simple to navigate for this particular reason.

Make your own or import from Facebook

There are two ways you can get the app to go. The first one is to create an event on your own. You’ll first have to set up the date for the countdown, and then an hour if you know one. If not, well, you’ll just have to set one up right now and wait until you know more to make the necessary adjustments.

Additional settings allow you to choose the name of the event, otherwise generically dubbed as “my event” and pick a unit you want the countdown to be expressed in. You can randomize the entire thing or just check any of the options presented to you – year, month, week, day, hour, minute, second. You can even set a number of heartbeats it will take until then, but you’ll have to choose your heartrate from a long list.

You can further customize it by picking a photo to display as background and even by enabling a slideshow if you want to add more pictures for the occasion. There are some options already available directly from the app, but more can be added including from Facebook albums and Instagram, or from the library. The photos can be slightly edited by adding a few filters and a border.

It’s also possible to set up a reminder, pick music from your library and fiddle with the font and color of the timer.

Adjust it all

Once you’re done with the adjustments, the countdown ticker can be moved to any area of the screen you desire by simply dragging it and dropping it there. The side menu will host any events you have in the planning and you can switch between them at any time. Another way to create an event is to import it from Facebook, which will immediately get all the data you need.

The app is quite nice and if you want to set down a countdown timer for whatever event in your life, then this is quite a nice additional to have.
