The 16GB model is now available for purchase in the country

Chinese company Xiaomi is one of the most vocal handset makers when it comes to removing microSD card slots from smartphones.

The reason is pretty simple: SD card speeds can't keep up with internal storage technology. This is why Samsung decided to include no microSD card slot in its Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge.

Anyway, Xiaomi recently launched its mid-range Mi4i smartphone in India, but the device can be ordered internationally for $235 (€214).

The smartphone is equipped with a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor paired with an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

Also, Xiaomi Mi4i packs 16GB of internal memory, which is not that much considering the device lacks a microSD card slot.

However, it looks like Xiaomi plans to “solve” the issue of too low storage capacity by launching another version of the Mi4i with more internal memory.

The company is now teasing the launch of a new product on its Facebook page, and everything points to a Xiaomi Mi4i 32GB model: “Move 4 to double.”

If a new 32GB Xiaomi Mi4i device goes on sale in India tomorrow, July 22, the smartphone will definitely cost more than the 16GB version. It remains to be seen by how much.
