Now here is an interesting turn of events coming from Xiaomi. It looks like the Chinese company is really interested in reducing environmental footprint by having the charger removed from its future phone bundles.

Xiaomi's CEO Lei Jun has taken the matter to Weibo, the Chinese social network equivalent to Facebook, to ask fans whether this will be a good decision or not.

Each Xiaomi smartphone comes bundled with its own charger, but the Chinese company also offers Mi chargers for around $1.70 separately.

Most customers that buy a new smartphone already have a charger from their previous handset, which is likely be a perfect match for the new one as well.

However, this doesn't work in case of smartphones that come with fast charging technology, which requires a special charger that might or might not come bundled in the sales package.

But when it comes to standard chargers, it will certainly be a good idea for handset makers to stop bundling them with their phones, especially since they are so cheap to buy separately.

Still, it looks like Xiaomi fans think that the Chinese company wants to cut costs by not including a charger with its new phones. That is certainly true, but on the other hand the environmental aspect is very important as well.
