This will reduce the amount of data even further

Here is a very useful feature that WhatsApp users will want to have included in their apps. It appears that developers plan to add a new option that will allow the application to use less amount of data during VoIP calls.

Windows Phone users will be pleased to know that this option is now available in WhatsApp beta, WMPU reports.

This means that, if everything goes well during testing, we might see the new feature included in the stable version in the coming weeks.

The new option can be found under “Chats and Calls” / Call Settings / Low data usage. Make sure that this option is enabled if you want to further lower the amount of data used during a WhatsApp call.

The Windows Phone version of WhatsApp Messenger recently received the Voice calling feature, so the new option to reduce the amount of data it uses is more than welcome.

The “Low data usage” feature will be especially useful to those who are on lower bandwidth connections and now prefer to text rather than use WhatsApp's new voice calling ability.

The number of spots for the WhatsApp beta program is limited, but those lucky to be chosen should try out the new feature made available to them by developers.
