Samsung unveiled one of its sleekest smartphones to date, the Galaxy Note5, a few weeks ago, but not everyone was happy with the new product coming out of the Korean tech giant.

Just like in the case of the Galaxy S6, the phone lacked a microSD card slot and featured a smaller battery than its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 4. Luckily, even if the Galaxy Note5 fails to deliver these much cherished features, there are substitutes for the almighty Samsung phablet. Like the Oppo R7 Plus, which will soon be selling on the American and European market.

Unlike the Galaxy Note5, the R7 Plus does come with a microSD card slot and bundles a pretty heavy 4,100 mAh battery on the inside. On top of that, the phone is made of magnesium-aluminum alloy, which makes it quite sturdy.

Up in front, we find a 6-inch AMOLED display with 1080p resolution, plus an 8MP Ultra Pixel frontal facing camera. The device relies on a Snapdragon 615 processor in combination with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (upgradable to up to 128GB).

The main camera on the R7 Plus is a 13MP one with a Sony IMX278 sensor which promises to take “outstanding shoots even under low light.” On the back also lives a fingerprint scanner.

However, you should bear in mind that the R7 Plus doesn’t come with 4G support and US customers will only be able to use it on T-Mobile's or AT&T’s network. The R7 Plus sells in China for approximately $470 / €408, but there’s no word on how much it will sell for stateside.
