US-based carrier T-Mobile has just announced that beginning September 10, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge will receive a software update to Android version 5.1.1 Lollipop (G920TUVU2DOH6).

According to the official changelog, which is the same for both smartphones, this update brings new features and improvements into the mix.

Customers who own these high-end smartphones will be pleased to know that the latest update will add Advanced Messaging and T-Mobile Video Calling.

In order to turn Advanced Messaging on, you will have to tap on Phone from any Home screen, click on the MORE icon, tap Settings, tap Settings and then choose to “Use VoLTE when available.”

In addition, you will have to head over to Settings, scroll to Connections, tap on More connection settings. Then, click on Wi-Fi Calling, slide the Wi-Fi Switch to the ON position and select Wi-Fi preferred or Never use Cellular Network to turn on Wi-Fi calling.

Aside from these two new features, the small Android Lollipop update brings a new Google Wallet application, as well as Dropbox. Also, it adds Work Profile / Device Owner.

Keep in mind that the update is pushed OTA (over the air) in stages, so if it doesn't show for you yet, then you should try again later. Let us know in the comments section if you noticed any other changes.
