Spotify users will be pleased to know that Running, a feature announced by the company several months ago, is finally available on Android devices.

Spotify Running was released on iOS platform months ago, but Android users had to wait until this week to be able to take advantage of it.

The new feature will allow the Android application to gauge a user's speed while jogging and alter the tempo of the music they are listening to accordingly.

“With Spotify Running, we’ve combined the best music on the planet with recommendations based on your listening history, multiple-genre playlists as well as original running compositions,” say developers in a blog post.

In order to start using Spotify Running, Android users will need to select their tempo and start running, as the application is supposed to match the music in time to the user's step to help them go the extra mile.

Obviously, the feature isn't perfect, so you might notice that Sportify Running does not always sync the music to your tempo, but it's pretty close, nevertheless.

It's also worth mentioning that the feature comes with a range of original tracks and playlists created by DJ Diesto and others, so it's definitely worth a try.

If you don't have the application yet, you can now download Spotify for Android for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 4.0 and up.
