The devices still feature DualShock 4 controller support

There are some bad and good news for Sony Xperia fans, as two of the newest devices launched by the Japanese company have dropped support for DualShock 3 controllers.

As XperiaBlog points out, both Sony Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z4 Tablet no longer support Sony's DualShock 3 controller. The good news is support for DualShock 4 controller is still enabled and works without problems.

Both Sony Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z4 Tablet are powered by Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, which is probably the reason why they no longer support DualShock 3 controller.

Although most of other Xperia smartphones continue to support DualShock 3 controller, there's a chance that once Sony releases Android 5.1 Lollipop in the coming weeks, support will be removed for this controller.

This is especially disappointing for those who played games using Sony's DualShock 3 controller and can't afford to buy the new one that comes with the PlayStation 4.

Keep in mind though that the new changes should not have any effect on PlayStation 4 Remote Play functionality since this feature is only available with Sony's newest console. Considering that each PlayStation 4 console comes with a DualShock 4 controller, those who own one should be safe.
