The Galaxy A9 might be the only smartphones unveiled

Sony Mobile was among the first handset makers to announce its press event during CES 2016 trade fair. Following the Japanese company, Samsung confirmed its own press conference scheduled for January 5.

According to a new report from GforGames, Samsung will hold a press conference at CES on January 5, between 14:00 and 14:45 hours.

Unfortunately, there's no telling what device will be unveiled, if any, during the 45-minute press event. However, we can safely assume that Samsung won't be launching the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge during this event since there's not enough time.

Also, Samsung always announced its flagship smartphones at Mobile World Congress (MWC), which usually debuts in late February / early March.

The only device that Samsung could launch early next year might be the Galaxy A9, which leaked a few times in the last couple of weeks.

Although the South Korean company already unveiled its new Galaxy A series, the Galaxy A9 is not part of this new family of smartphones, which is why we believed Samsung might announce it in January 2016.

Obviously, there's also a chance that Samsung won't unveil any new devices during the press conference though it will be rather weird for the attendees. Hopefully, more details on Samsung's upcoming event will emerge in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
