Prisma has become popular fast after its release, as the app has been downloaded about 16.5 million times since its release last month in the App Store. The application debuted in the Play Store just a few days ago, but it seems that it has already recorded 2 million downloads per day.

A report from Bloomberg says that Prisma will be incorporating effects for video editing soon, specifically, in several weeks' time. Prisma Labs has stated that the technology is ready, but the company still needs to update its computing infrastructure in order to support this feature.

Prisma managed to rank among the top 10 applications in the App Store on Monday, surpassing WhatsApp and Instagram in some countries, according to AppAnnie. The application contains up to 30 filters that can be used in order to enhance pictures.

Prisma is unlike other popular photo editing applications, in the sense that it doesn't simply apply filters on images. Prisma uses a complex algorithm to scan the image and transform it completely. Images are truly enhanced in an artistic way, as the style of filters resembles that of famous painters like Picasso or Monet.

The application comes with the option to crop or rotate images, and users can even adjust the intensity of filters before they're applied to the finished product.

Prisma app doesn't require users to create an account in order to enhance their pictures, and all filters are provided for free. Prisma is available for download in the Play store or App Store.
