14 DAY TRIAL // A few days ago we told you that device maker Oppo had become an official partner of FC Barcelona, and to celebrate this event, the company is unveiling the FC Barcelona Edition of its Oppo R7 Plus handset today.
The device maker says 5,000 units of the so-called “Smartphone for Champions” will be made available for $550 / €492 right off its official website. The special edition features Barcelona’s logo on the back, a Barcelona-themed wallpaper and a protective case accessory.
What’s more, from September 12 and on, Oppo will hold a charity auction on eBay for phones baring the autographs of FC Barcelona’s top players including Lionel Messi, Andreas Iniesta and Dani Alves.
Also in September, Oppo will host a giveaway for the limited edition phone in 20 international markets. As for specs, the new phone comes equipped with the same configuration as the Oppo R7 Plus.
The device boasts a 6-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with 1080p resolution. Under the hood lies an octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor working hand in hand with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory (memory expansion allowed up to 128GB).
As for photography, the phone bundles a 13MP photo snapper on the back, coupled with an 8MP frontal shooter for selfies and such.
The smartphone ships with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box, along with Color OS 2.1 UI on top. The limited edition device will sell for $550 / €491
