Nova Launcher is one of the most popular launcher applications on the Play Store, with more than 10 million downloads and a 4.6 star rating. It's quite a lot for a launcher, but it is to be expected since the app offers an abundance of customization options for various Android phones.

Kevin Barry from Nova Launcher has announced that the application will receive a beta update with exciting new features. The post was made on Google+, where he also revealed the changelog, according to Droid Life.

Nova Launcher will come with Pixel Launcher setup, which means that users can achieve the whole Pixel Launcher look on their phone, without actually having the Google app, which has yet to be released.

Users will be able to swipe up to access the app drawer, since Pixel Launcher doesn't actually come with an app drawer icon. The navigation bar in the app drawer is transparent and folder icons have a certain design.

In addition, the new Google Search icon will be visible, together with the Calendar icon that now displays the current date.

There are some instructions that users need to follow in order to achieve the Pixel Launcher look. They would need to adjust drawer options and set the swipe to open option.

Moreover, there are some card background adjustments that need to be made, but they're all explained in the Google+ post. Users need to register in the beta testing program, before they can use the new Nova Launcher beta version.

Nova Launcher beta update also comes with Nougat fixes and optimizations. Google has yet to release Pixel Launcher, but it is said to arrive with the upcoming Pixel and Pixel XL phones.
