Updates are set to arrive in the last quarter of 2016

Motorola’s roadmap regarding the delivery of the Android 7.0 Nougat update to its smartphones leaked last month, revealing when exactly the company's phones were set to receive the latest Android OS version. Now, it seems that the company has decided to make the information available on its website.

Motorola published the full list of smartphones that will receive Android 7.0 Nougat updates,and it includes some of the most powerful devices in its line-up.

The 4th Gen Moto G, G Plus and G Play, Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen), Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Moto X Force, Droid Turbo 2, Droid Maxx 2, Moto Z, Moto Z Droid and Force Droid, Moto Z Play, Moto Z Play Droid, and the Nexus 6 are included on the list.

Updates will arrive to these smartphones in Q4 and users can visit Moto’s software upgrades page to get more details on specifics by country or carrier.

The previous report showed that Moto G4 and Moto Z smartphones would be receiving upgrades as soon as October.

Android 7.0 Nougat comes with an abundance of improvements over the previous Android version. It received performance updates, including Vulkan API, Project Svelte and JIT compiler. It also comes with an enhanced notification system and multi-window multitasking view.

It also has Direct Boot, which helps users start up devices faster and run apps in a more secure environment, and Quick Switch, which will let users shift between applications with the touch of a single button.
