Android users that are taking advantage of Microsoft's Outlook application will be pleased to know that developers have just released a new version in Google Play Store.

The new version is 1.3.25 and doesn't being any new features into the mix. Instead, Microsoft confirmed that the update contains major improvements that were requested by Outlook users.

The official changelog mentions developers have started with battery usage and managed to optimize the application's battery-power usage to keep users going all day long.

Furthermore, Microsoft also states that it has worked on the quality of the Contact Sync, improving the way it works and making sure that only the right contacts are finding their way onto users address book.

Last but not least, the latest version of Outlook for Android brings support for IRM, so users can now safely open all protected messages.

These are all the improvements delivered by Microsoft this week, but more updates for Outlook for Android are expected to be released soon.

Hopefully, more new features will be included in the upcoming builds of the Android application, though bug fixes and enhancements are always welcomed additions.

If you don't have the application yet, you can now download Outlook for Android for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 4.0 and up.
