Even if Android 6.0 Marshmallow is just around the corner, it’s still not a bad idea to purchase a smartphone with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. Especially if they are super cheap.

Well, if you live in India, then you’ll be glad to know that popular handset maker Micromax has just rolled out the Canvas Spark 2, as reported by IBN Live. The phone will be offered through a flash sale starting September 30 at noon via Snapdeal for just $60 / €54 a pop.

Specifications are pretty low, as you’d expect at this price, so the Canvas Spark 2 will offer a 5-inch display with FWVGA resolution (480 x 854 pixel res) and an unnamed quad-core chipset clocked at 1.3GHz. The RAM capacity is currently unknown.

Micromax also throws in a 5MP rear camera plus a 2MP frontal sensor. There’s 4GB of internal storage, but a microSD card slot can be used to expand it up to 32GB. The Canvas Spark 2 also features dual-SIM, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Powering the whole machine is a 1,800 mAh battery which should be enough to take you through the day. As we mentioned above, the Canvas Spark 2 comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.

Even if the model is not eligible to be upgraded to Android 6.0, $60 is still a pretty decent price to pay for a phone with the current operating system.
