If you are a Lumia 540 owner based in India, then we have a piece of good news for you. Apparently, the RM-1141 variant which is sold in the country is currently receiving a minor update within the borders.

According to NPU, the updated Windows Phone 8.1 GDR2 version for Lumia 540 is 8.10.151.37.148. Don’t expect this update to be a major one, though. Actually, the new software version brings about one major advantage and that is “thermal improvements.”

As is usually the case with these sorts of updates, the availability of the software may vary depending on service provider. Still, if you’re really keen on downloading and installing the update, you can go on and check its availability manually at Settings>Phone update.

The Lumia 540 saw the light of day in April 2015 and made a debut into the wild with an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen of 5-inch variety, with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution (approximately 294ppi).

Pumping life from under the hood is a lower-end quad-core Snapdragon 200 SoC working in combination with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The good news is that those who feel like they need more storage can expand it via the microSD card slot up to 128GB.

The phone also features an 8MP/5MP camera combo and is sustained by a 2,200 mAh battery out of the box.
