But it might be upgraded directly to Android M

Here is more bad news for LG smartphone owners, as the South Korean company has just confirmed that its flagship handset, the G4, will not receive Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

As GSMArena notes, both LG Hellas and O2 UK have confirmed for its customers that LG does not have any plans for G4 Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for the moment.

The announcement comes shortly after LG Brasil stated that another high-end smartphone launched by the handset maker, LG G Flex will not be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop. This means that the G Flex will remain on Android 4.4.x KitKat until end of life status.

However, LG G4 owners might be in luck since the South Korean company might have decided to upgrade its flagship smartphone directly to Android M.

Unfortunately, it will take quite a long time until Android M arrives on the LG G4, since the new operating system hasn't been released yet.

Android M is expected to be released sometime this fall and if things go smoothly, LG G4 might receive the update early next year.

While we doubt that LG will be capable of delivering Android M for G4 this year, we reckon that everything is possible.
