Back in April, Huawei unveiled the Honor 4C smartphone, a budget-friendly device which made it out into the wild with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage (expandable).

Well, it seems that the Chinese device maker is following in Xiaomi’s footsteps, who recently unveiled an upgraded version of its Redmi 2A low-cost device, offering it with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

It appears that the bar for entry-level smartphones has been raised to include 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can only be a plus (as spotted at Gizmo China).

As for pricing and release date, Huawei will start selling the improved version of the device on September 15. Pricing will be announced on the same day, but we guess the rate will be a little higher than the current Honor 4C’s $125 / €110.

The remaining specs of the Huawei Honor 4C include a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution. Under the hood, Huawei makes use of a quad-core Snapdragon 615 processor or a HiSilicon Kirin 620 octa-core CPU.

The phone offers dual-SIM support and dual cameras in the form of a 13MP main camera with autofocus, LED flash, video recording and 22mm wide-angle lens, plus a 5MP secondary shooter up in front.
