14 DAY TRIAL // In the past few years, HTC has added its own applications to Google Play, but most of them only worked on its branded devices. HTC Sense Home 8 is one of the most popular applications of this kind, and by the looks of it, the company now intends to make it available to non-HTC devices that run Android.
HTC Sense Home 8 is actually the latest stock launcher that has first been introduced on HTC 10 and comes with lots of exciting features. The application allows users to choose from multiple freestyle layouts and place app icons wherever they want on the screen.
Widgets and stickers are also customizable, making Sense Home one of the most customizable launchers available out there. The app also enables users to get updates from friends’ social media accounts or the latest news placed directly on the home screen.
HTC Sense Home 8 will be available as a closed beta for select users who run Android 4.4 or later on their non-HTC devices, according to AusDroid. HTC seems to conduct its own selection process and has already started sending out invites to chosen users.
However, beta testing positions are limited, and users who wish to be part of the process should respond to the invite as soon as possible. The beta testing phase codenamed GOOGLE_PLAY_SENSE_GP will start on June 23.
HTC is truly a consumer-oriented company, as it has recently sent customers who pre-ordered HTC 10 a thank-you card and a gift USB-C cable.
