Get your shiny new Nexus 6 for just 100 bucks

You probably remember Google’s Project Fi which is the company’s attempt at turning itself into an MNVO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) and cater to your needs. For the time being, the initiative only works with Google’s own Nexus 6, although some resourceful users managed to make it work on the Nexus 5 too.

While the program offered some major advantages, Google has just announced another one. If you have bought a Nexus 6 through Project Fi, the company is offering a one-time $100 / €90 replacement (within one year of purchase) in case your phone gets damaged one way or another (as seen at Android Central).

Yes, Google is not offering a free-of-charge replacement, but 100 bucks sounds like a fair price for a device with a cracked screen. No other fees are applied, as the option is just an added benefit to Project Fi.

Naturally, it’s a lot better than paying $500 / €451 outright. But don’t forget that this is a one-time offer and you won’t be able to use the service to replace a Nexus 6 that has merely been scratched.

So now you might be wondering how you get your hands on that shiny new Nexus 6 smartphone. Well, nothing easier, just place a quick call, chat or send an email to Project Fi support and voila! You are taken care of.
