Google frequently makes changes to its Google Now application in Android, as it tries to offer users information at their fingertips. Now, Android Police reports that the Mountain View-based giant intends to bring Google Now cards to Chrome's New Tab on Android.

Google is making changes to its Chrome browser on Android smartphones as the company plans to bring Google Now cards to New Tabs in Android. The change has appeared first in Chrome Dev, and users need to toggle a flag in order to see it.

Android Police reports that the new feature is live for everyone and that it works in Chrome Beta, but it's not live yet. In addition, it might need to be activated on some devices while it may come as default in others.

The new section displays recent bookmarks and suggested news stories. The flag that needs to be activated is called “Show content snippets on the New Tab page.”

The section has a few alternate modes, including some that show content based on the most visited websites or using non-personalized data. The cards can be accessed in Chrome Beta, but they won't display bookmarks, and the source of the links seems to be unclear. The new feature should eventually roll out to the stable Chrome application, but it's difficult to say when that will actually happen.

Google is also testing a new Dashboard tab in Google Now, one that would collect data from across various Google services and provide it into one tab.
