The game in Messenger celebrates EURO 2016

EURO 2016 is a huge sports event and in order to celebrate the competition held in France, Facebook has incorporated a soccer game in its Messenger app. The feature is available in Messenger on iOS and Android.

The football game is only available in Facebook’s Messenger app, and it’s quite easy to access. You simply need to start a conversation and send a football emoji to a friend. After you tap on the football emoji, the game starts automatically.

The football game won’t work if you haven’t updated to the latest Messenger version first. The game allows you to do kick-ups in order to keep the ball in the air and prevent it from hitting the ground. It sounds easy, but it really isn’t.

The game records your current best score and displays emojis in the background, each time you tap on the screen. It also takes into consideration if you’ve tapped directly in the center of the ball or on the side, which makes it bounce in different directions on the screen.

When the score exceeds 10, the game adds some distractions. The interface is simple, there aren’t many things that you can do inside the game, but the whole experience is equally annoying and addictive.

Facebook’s move is mainly targeted at users who are interested in EURO 2016 and the Copa America Centenario 2016. Just a few days ago, Facebook implemented SMS in Messenger for smartphones running on Android, so the company’s messaging application has surely gotten a lot of attention lately.
