The app chooses the best emoji while the user types

The Google Play Store is certainly home to lots of innovative and interesting applications, aside from the well-known social networking apps and games. One such application that’s certainly of interest is Dango, which comes as a neat idea and uses neural networks to pick the suitable emoji in conversations. This is done while the user types a message.

Dango was created by Whirlscape, a company from Toronto, and it’s not your typical standalone application. It’s actually a floating app that sits on top of any keyboard input and suggests various emoji, stickers, and GIFs that users could insert in their messages, based on the words they type.

It's worth noting that Dango is based on an intelligent algorithm that analyzes not only words but also context and meaning, and it appears in any app that inputs text, unless users specifically disable it.

It’s similar to Facebook’s Chat Heads feature, in the sense that it disappears when the user stops typing, and thus it doesn’t take up too much battery or system resources.

When Dango is enabled, users no longer need to switch pages on their keyboard in order to find the suitable emoji, as the application automatically suggests possible emojis that could be added to the text with a simple tap. Keyboard apps are quite popular, and Google has just recently added some new features to its default Android keyboard to make it more competitive on the market.

Dango also predicts GIFs by Giphy or stickers from packs that the company constantly adds. Dango is available for users on the Google Play store, and it works on smartphones running Android 4.3 or later.
