BlackBerry Priv is going to be one secure Android device

BlackBerry confirmed a few days that yes, they are indeed looking to launch an Android slider with a focus on privacy on the market. The device is called Priv (for privacy) and BlackBerry’s CEO John Chen himself handled the device (pretty awkwardly, to be fair) on camera for a few moments.

Well, now the company has just released the first official images showcasing the BlackBerry Priv in an attempt to build even more hype around the handset. To be fair, a lot of us are pretty excited to see what the Priv will be like in real life, so BlackBerry might end up selling a lot of these devices.

Specs of the device have also leaked online, but through unofficial means, though. So we can tell you that the Priv is bound to arrive with a 5.5-inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution (QHD display) and a Snapdragon 808 processor under the hood.

The hexa-core chipset will be fitted together with Adreno 418 GPU, 3GB of RAM and an unknown amount of storage (nevertheless, we know it’s expandable via microSD card slot). The phone will also enjoy the services of an 18MP rear-facing camera that should take advantage of OIS (optical image stabilization).

What we currently don’t know is when exactly BlackBerry plans to unveil the phone, although we’ve heard talk the device might launch sometime in November.
