Google released a new Marshmallow update earlier today, but Android 6.0.1 was only available to Nexus devices. Although the search giant confirmed it handed the software to its OEM partners, it will take some time for any handset maker to bring this update to its products.

The good news is Android One owners won't have to wait that long to get the update. According to several reports coming from many users located in different countries (via AndroidPolice), Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow is now rolling out to multiple Android One devices.

For example, Cherry Mobile G1 is getting the update in the Philippines, while the Micromax A1 reportedly receives the update in India.

Although there are many more Android One units available on the market, we can safely assume they will all get the update at some point, hopefully, sooner rather than later.

It's also worth mentioning that Google has already released the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow factory images, so those with compatible Nexus devices have the option to update by downloading and flashing them.

Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow brings hundreds of new Unicode 8 emoji, but also lots of tweaks and features that might or might not have been available in previous versions of Android.

Users who upgrade will get the “Until Next Alarm” feature that was missing from Marshmallow but was present in Lollipop. Other small fixes and improvements have been implemented too.
