You might remember that, not so long ago, Alcatel revealed the OneTouch Idol 3 smartphone, which arrived with pretty decent specs and a good price tag (around $200/€182 initially). Now, the company is set on releasing a new device featuring the same basic design elements, but with a smaller form factor and more attractive price tag.

The phone is called the Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 4.7 and will be made available in the US and Canada towards the end of the week for $180 and up (as seen at Phone Arena).

Alcatel is offering a 4.7-inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution plus a Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor under the hood, working hand in hand with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card slot).

The OneTouch Idol 3 4.7 also has a 13MP main camera, 5MP selfie shooter and front-facing speakers with JBL audio. The device is good for supporting 4G LTE networks and should work with AT&T and T-Mobile networks in the US.

The fully fledged OneTouch Idol 3 bundles a full HD display, Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM plus a 2,910 mAh battery (in contrast, the 4.7-incher only relies on a 2,000 mAh one).

Anyway, if you’re not into smartphones with larger displays like the OneTouch Idol 3, the Idol 3 4.7 seems like a good choice, especially for those who aren’t willing to spend a fortune on their next handset.
