Smartphones that sport octa-core processors are already available for purchase, but the first such device to feature a true 8-core CPU won’t become official until November 21.

Chip maker MediaTek has already confirmed plans to release such a processor before the end of this year, namely the MT6592 CPU, and Chinese phone maker Zopo will be the first to adopt it.

The company has announced on Facebook plans to launch the handset on November 21, and also unveiled that 5,000 units of the device would be available for the International market on the very same day.

Apparently, the company plans the release of an online store next week so as to take international orders for the new smartphone.

Unfortunately, no specific info on what other hardware capabilities the new device will sport has been provided. We’ll be able to learn more on it next week when it launches, if not before that, so stay tuned for more on this.
