ZTE is probably prepping an update to its Star 2

ZTE has a line of premium smartphones called Star and soon we might see the company unveil a new addition to the family.

The folks at Tech Gadgetsz have gotten hold of a bunch of renders showcasing an unannounced ZTE Star smartphone.

The handset seems to be the beneficiary of a slender body and a design featuring a minimal bezel setup. We can also spot separate circular volume buttons sitting on the right side of the device, much in the vein of the ones the iPhone 4 dons.

Interestingly enough, the power / lock button is missing from the renders, so is it possible that the phone will not come equipped with one? It is a possibility, but it’s pretty unlikely. This detail is probably a slip on the designer’s part.

But what really draws our attention in these renders is the dual camera setup on the back. There are two equally sized lenses living on the rear panel, which suggests that the smartphone will arrive with 3D capturing capabilities and even some post-shot focusing effects.

There are two color variants shown in the renders, one with a dark gray tone and one with a shiny blue paint job.

However, the current ZTE Star 2 model saw the light of day in December 2014, so it’s probably going to be a while until the Chinese company rolls out the successor.
