Google has just updated its YouTube application with lots of graphics changes, but they also did some tweaks to the menus for an easier overall navigation experience.

It appears that Google has mistakenly uploaded a different version of YouTube on Google Play Store, which was only meant for internal testing. The testing version included a “Dogfood” settings menu tagged with a bone icon.

However, the search giant quickly pulled this version of YouTube and replaced it with the correct one. If you see YouTube 5.5.27 on Google Play, it means it’s the last iteration released by Google.

As AndroidPolice points out, the update includes some redesign for the UI, such as various tweaks to user pages. The Playlists tab in the main menu has been extended with additional tabs in the sidebar, but the change was only present in the testing version.

Since Google replaced with a new stable iteration meant to end users, the Playlists tab remained the same without any additional tabs. However, YouTube users will be pleased to know they will now be able to reply to or report comments.

You can now download YouTube for Android 5.5.27 for free via Google Play store. The application should be fully compatible with most devices powered by Android 2.3.3 and up.
