Yammer, the business micro-blogging service that was purchased by Microsoft last year, will release an updated version of its Windows Phone 8 application in the near future.

The company’s Chief Product Officer Pavan Tapadia confirmed to eWeek plans on the matter, saying that the they were focusing on "helping teams work better together.”

He also explained that the company would do so through leveraging Office Web Apps, and that it would deliver optimizations to mobile workflow, which will make companies more responsive.

Yammer will go for a “mobile-first” approach when it comes to workflows, and it will also make it easier for email users and for those in public groups to join conversations.

The Windows Phone 8 Yammer client is set to receive better notifications, along with improved Live Tiles and a revised Inbox. An update for the Android version of the app is also planned.
