Today, Sony made official a new device in the popular Xperia family of handsets, namely the Xperia sola, a smartphone that brings along the innovative floating touch technology.

The device was said to be en-route to Europe starting with the second quarter of the ongoing year, and some more info on the matter has just emerged.

Apparently, Sony France expects it to hit shelves in late April. Moreover, the vendor confirmed that it would feature a price tag of €329 when made available.

With this price tag next to it, the new device will fit right between the Xperia P (€399) and Xperia U (€259), a recent article on XperiaBlog.net reads.

The new Xperia sola smartphone arrives with a 3.7-inch touchscreen display, a dual-core application processor inside and a 5MP camera on the back. The handset runs under Android 2.3, but will taste Ice Cream Sandwich soon after launch.
