Xperia Z1 Compact, the smaller version of Sony’s latest flagship Android-based smartphone, is now available for purchase in the UK on the network of wireless carrier O2 as well.

The phone can be purchased via the operator's website at £480 ($790/€581) contract-free or on a Pay As You Go Basis, though users can also grab it on monthly deals. The phone is available in the UK via Sony as well, at a lower price tag.

The smartphone is available in all four color versions, namely Black, Lime, Pink and White, with support for the wireless carrier’s 4G network.

The handset features a 4.3-inch screen, a 2.2GHz quad-core processor, and 2GB of RAM. Xperia Z1 Compact also comes with a 20.7-megapixel camera on the back, the same as Xperia Z1, along with a front camera for making video calls.

Sony Xperia Z1 Compact runs under Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. However, it should receive an upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat in the not-too-distant future.
