Sony Mobile is getting ready for the launch of its Xperia Z1 flagship smartphone on the market in Japan, and it appears set to provide users in the country with some more goodies when compared to what people in other markets will receive.

The Japanese flavor of Xperia Z1 will pack upgraded hardware specs, a recent post on XperiaBlog explains.

Apparently, the phone will feature 32GB of internal memory in Japan, up from 16GB inside the international version, while also packing an IR blaster and Full-Seg/NOTTV support.

The smartphone will arrive on shelves at two wireless carriers in the country, including NTT DoCoMo (where it will feature model number SO-01F) and au by KDDI (as model SOL23).

As it turns out, the NTT DoCoMo variant will sport the same dimensions as the international variant (144 x 74 x 8.5 mm), but will be a bit heavier at 171 grams.
