Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile appears to have already started the delivery of the Android 4.4.2 KitKat platform upgrade to the owners of Xperia Z Ultra devices out there, and that some people in Hong Kong are already receiving it.

A screenshot that has emerged online today shows that the smartphone has started receiving firmware version 14.3.A.0.681 in the country, which suggests that the rollout of Android 4.4.2 for this device might have just started.

The screenshot, available courtesy of bbs.gfan, has been taken from a C6833 version of the mobile phone, though there’s no telling on whether the image is real or not.

In fact, the guys over at XperiaBlog note that the final OS release for this device might not arrive with the same build number attached to it. However, the update should be pushed out in the 14.3.A.X.XXX firmware range.

At the moment, Xperia Z Ultra runs under the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system, with software version 14.2.A.1.136 attached to it.

Although an official confirmation Sony’s plans for the Android 4.4.2 KitKat for the smartphone hasn’t been provided as of now, chances are that the mobile phone maker will unveil specifics on the matter in a matter of weeks, so keep an eye on this space for additional details.
