Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile should enter the phablet market later this year with a device said to feature the codename of Xperia Togari, and a photo of the device appears to have emerged online.

Available courtesy of Esato, the photo suggests that the smartphone will be quite thin, and also appears to confirm the rumored 6.44-inch touchscreen display that the device is expected to sport when made official.

According to a recent article on Techkiddy, the smartphone is set to hit shelves as Xperia ZU, and should become official on June 25, during a press event that Sony has already announced for Germany.

Apparently, the device would hit shelves with IP58 certification for water resistance, an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, a stylus for enhanced input capabilities, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset inside, just as reported earlier today.
