Sony is moving closer to the release of two new Xperia devices on the Japanese market, and some more proof of that has made it online.

We’re referring here to firmware for the recently unveiled Xperia GX and Xperia SX smartphones, which has just received certification from PTCRB.

This move shows that Sony is indeed prepared to have the phones available for purchase soon, as initially announced. Xperia GX should hit shelves before the end of this month, while Xperia SX was planned for availability in August.

The PTCRB certification came for firmware 7.0.D.0.99 for the Xperia GX and for software version 7.0.D.1.40 for the Xperia SX.

As XperiaBlog reports, Sony is also expected to bring at least the Xperia GX to the international market following the Japanese launch, yet no specific details on when that might happen were made available so far.
