Today, Indian mobile phone maker Xolo has officially announced plans to bring the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system to a great deal of devices in its lineup, including the Q700S, Q1010i, Q1010 and Q3000.

According to the company, all of these smartphones are set to get a taste of the new platform version by June, though no specific release date for each of them has been provided as of now.

At the same time, the company has confirmed plans to bring to the market a new series of smartphones running under the KitKat OS version right from the start.

Several days ago, the mobile phone maker started the deployment of KitKat for another device, namely the Q1000 Opus, and the official release notes for the update are now available, as fonearena notes.

According to the company, the new firmware release brings along improved multitasking capabilities, as well as an upgraded version of Hangouts, one that supports SMS and MMS integration.

The update also comes with an Immersive mode, as well as with an improved caller application, and a redesigned email app with nested folders, contact photos and better navigation. Better integration with Google Drive was also included in it.

Chances are that Q700S, Q1010i, Q1010 and Q3000 will receive similar enhancements as part of the OS upgrade, so stay tuned for more on the matter.
