Chinese mobile phone maker Xiaomi might be determined to grab more market share in the entry-level segment, as it is currently rumored to plan the launch of a device priced at only $50 (€36.7).

JiaYu is also gearing up for such a handset, called JiaYu F1, which sports a dual-core CPU, a 4-inch screen and a 5-megapixel camera. However, Xiaomi might bring this to a new level, rumor has it.

According to a post on GizChina, the company’s yet unannounced cheap smartphone might sport a larger screen and a more powerful processor inside.

Of course, nothing has been officially confirmed on the matter as of now, and chances are that it will all prove to be nothing more than simple speculation, but enthusiasts will certainly be dreaming of said handset.

Hopefully, it won’t be long before Xiaomi sheds some light on the matter, so stay tuned to learn the news.
