Today, Chinese mobile phone maker Xiaomi has announced a new milestone in its evolution, as it managed to sell over 10 million units of its M2 series of devices.

The company reached this sales level in 11 months after launching the first handset in the series, namely the Xiaomi Mi2, the company’s founder Lei Jun unveiled, techinasia reports.

Earlier this year, the handset vendor added two new models to the lineup, namely the Xiaomi Mi2S and Mi2A. In a few weeks, the vendor will also start selling a new flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi3.

The 10 million sold units figure is of great importance to the company, as it moved only 7.19 million phones in 2012. For this year, the company aims at reaching the 20 million sold devices mark.

At the moment, Xiaomi’s handsets are available only in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, but they are expected to reach more markets soon.
