Microsoft introduced a new music service called Xbox Music last year, which would allow users to stream music on the Internet free of charge via Windows Phone, Windows RT and the web.

Today, the Redmond-based company has announced that it has expanded its music service to Android and iOS platforms by launching corresponding applications on Google Play Store and App Store.

Xbox Music allows users to access their Xbox Music Pass via an Android or iOS device, Xbox, Windows 8 PC and the web.

Those who already own an Xbox Music Pass can stream ad-free music from tens of millions of songs, add songs, albums and playlists to their Xbox Music collection and access them from a mobile device while on the go.

Users will also be able to listen to music while using their Android phone, as well as create playlists that can be synced across phone, Xbox 360, PC, tablet and the web.

Xbox Music 1.0.30905 is now available as a free download via Google Play store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 4.0 and up.
