The mobile operating system increased its market share by 0.2% in the timeframe

Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system is gaining more and more ground in the United States, the latest data coming from Comscore unveils.

In the three months ended October 31, 2013, the platform has added 475,000 new users, which helped it gain 0.2 percent more market share in the country when compared to the second quarter of the year.

As WMPoweruser notes, the mobile operating system currently enjoys an installed user base of 4.774 million users. Microsoft’s platform gained users from BlackBerry, iOS, and Symbian alike, it seems.

The aforementioned report from Comscore also shows that, while most mobile operating systems gained market share in the third quarter in the United States, BlackBerry lost 0.7 percent share, which bought it at only 0.4 percent share away from Windows Phone.

Windows Phone is growing in other countries around the world as well, strengthening its position on the market.
