Windows Phone 8 has been rumored to add support for full HD screens before the end of this year, and confirmation on the matter appears to have emerged, courtesy of Visual Studio 2013, which was previewed last week.

Windows Phone 8 emulator files included in Visual Studio 2013 clearly showed support for 1080p resolution, thus pointing at the feature being on its way to the platform in the not too distant future.

Rumor has it that Microsoft will add support for full HD resolution in the upcoming Windows Phone 8 GDR3 platform release, which should become available in late 2013 or early 2014.

The info comes from Justin Angel, who used to work with Microsoft and Nokia, as WPCentral notes.

“Good news everybody! WP8 emulator files in Visual Studio 2013 reveal 1080p emulator! Resolution 1080x1920,” Angel states in a recent tweet.
