The Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Cyan has finally arrived at T-Mobile for Nokia Lumia 521. The entry-level smartphone has been skipped from the initial roll-out of the update, but better late than never.

According to many reports received by NokiaPowerUser, Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Cyan is now rolling out to all Lumia 521 units at T-Mobile. Obviously, given the fact that this is a staged roll-out, it will take some time until it reaches all devices.

Lumia 521 is the second T-Mobile smartphone that receives the Windows Phone 8.1 during the last week after Nokia Lumia 925 got the same update in late October.

In order to manually check for the update, head over to Settings / Phone Update and tap Check for updates. Make sure your smartphone is connected to a Wi-Fi network, as this will be a large download.

Windows Phone 8.1 will bring Lumia 521 owners new features and improvements, including Cortana digital assistant, enhanced notification center, inflight texting support and much more.

The Lumia Cyan firmware update will also bring lots of other improvements and new features, which are exclusive to Lumia smartphones.

There are a few more Lumia smartphones that have yet to receive Windows Phone 8.1 or Lumia Cyan updates (or both), but Microsoft does seem determined to complete the roll-out by the end of the year.
