Tag the following under speculations rather than verified rumor, as the source of the information is rather controversial. None other than Russian blogger Eldar Murtazin claims that the next major update for Windows Phone platform will arrive in his native country at the end of June.

It’s unclear on what grounds Murtazin makes this statement, but he is well known for getting some facts correct before they even got official. However, in the last couple of months, his predictions were rather wild, especially on the soon to be released Galaxy S5.

Nevertheless, Windows Phone fans can rest easy that details on the timeframe release for Windows Phone 8.1 will leak ahead of the actual launch.

According to Microsoft and Nokia, Windows Phone 8.1 will be pushed to the general public this summer, but a narrower timeframe has yet to be confirmed.

The latest hearsay claims that Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview is slated for release today, April 10, but we don’t have any reports that it might have been released.

Joe Belfiore mentioned that the developer preview should go live in the first part of April, so that could mean that Microsoft will release it on April 15 in a worst-case scenario. What do you think about Murtazin’s speculations? Are they valid or not?
