As the title says, developers are in for a nice surprise early next week, as the hotly anticipated Windows Phone 8.1 preview build will arrive early next week.

Microsoft's Joe Belfiore confirmed the information recently, although he did mentioned a few days ago Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview is set for release in the first part of April.

Since people assumed that will be April 10, while others speculated it might arrive as late as April 15, Belfiore was more precise in its statement regarding the release of the update.

As he says in his tweet, developers should relax over the weekend and start searching for the promised Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview early next week. This means that the update may arrive on either April 14 or April 15.

Everyone with a compatible smartphone will be able to download the update assuming they have a valid App Studio account. Microsoft confirmed that Windows Phone 8.1 will be released for general public sometime this “summer.”

Given the fact that the timeframe for the public release is large, we await for more details to leak in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for any news regarding the launch of Windows Phone 8.1 for WP8-based devices.
