It’s unclear what changes the update will bring to the tablet

Although Google announced its next Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system several months ago, the platform is still not available for most devices that have been launched with a previous version.

Even if this will change in the following months, Google is rumored to launch Android 5.0 Jelly Bean in fall, which will make Android 4.0 ICS an old platform even though its adoption is under 5% of the smartphone market.

Nevertheless, Motorola is now preparing to push a new software update for the Wi-Fi only XOOM, which is why the company has started to recruit Motorola Feedback Network members to participate in this early preview.

It’s unclear exactly what the update will bring, but given the fact that the slate is one of few that got its Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade, we should safely assume that this is a maintenance update that will address some bugs.
