The official WhatsApp Messenger application for BlackBerry 10 was launched last week and developers have already pushed the first major update.

According to the official changelog available for this update, the latest version of WhatsApp includes some fixes for various contacts issues.

Furthermore, developers might have fixed some problems with notifications and media sharing. More localization improvements for several languages, including English, Arabic, Spanish, Indonesian and Turkish have been added as well.

WhatsApp Messenger 2.9.3997.0 is now available as a free download via BlackBerry World and it should be fully compatible with all devices running BlackBerry 10 and up. Check it out here.

Keep in mind that while the application is free to use for one year, users will have to pay a $0.99 fee each year after that.
