One of the most popular instant messengers for mobile phones, WeChat, has just received a small update on the Windows Phone platform, which brings a few new features and improvements.

First of all, developers have confirmed that users of WeChat for Windows Phone can now specify their exact location while sharing location data. The feature was not available in any of the previous versions, so you might want to try this out and see whether or not this is accurate.

Next in line is the ability to save video messages directly to the device. This is one of the most requested features by WeChat fans, so they will most likely be pleased that developers have listened to their feedback and introduced this new feature.

Last but not least, with the latest version of WeChat, users will be notified when they are mentioned in a group chat. No other mentions of bug fixes or tweaks are included in the official changelog, so we must assume that these are all the improvements added in the update.

You can now download WeChat for Windows Phone 5.1.3 for free via Windows Phone Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 7.5 and up.
