Under license from Games Workshop, developed by Supersense

Since Games Workshop started to license its Warhammer franchise to anyone having the financial resources required, a plethora of games have been released on all platforms.

Some of these games were bad, others were really, really bad. So here is another one that hopefully won't just add to the pile of awful Warhammer games that have been released lately (with a few exceptions of course).

It's called Warhammer: Storm of Magic and it's a mobile game. Developed by Chinese-based studio Supersense and under license from Games Workshop, Warhammer: Storm of Magic is a collectable card battle game.

Not much has been revealed about the gameplay, but Supersense CEO Troy Horton said in a statement “whilst we are early in development with a great deal of work to do we have made good progress so we couldn’t wait to share what we have so far.

“For a new company working with the Warhammer brand gives us a certain pressure to up our game so we have to value people’s thoughts.”

According to Supersense, Warhammer: Storm of Magic will allow players, their heroes and units to engage in tactical battles online with other players or AI controlled players.

So, I guess it will require Internet connection, just like other games in the same genre (i.e. Hearthstone). We also know it will come on Android and iOS. For more on the game watch the “first work-in-progress” trailer below.
