The new version brings improved performance and bug fixes

The good folks at Viber have just released a small update for their Windows Phone application that allows users to make and receive free calls.

Unfortunately, unlike the previous major update that added lots of new features and enhancements, this iteration doesn't come with an official changelog attached to it.

We suspect that this minor update is aimed to bring some under the hood improvements, along with some small bug fixes, but we can't confirm it.

However, WMPoweruser reports that lots of Viber users who have updated to the latest version claim that the application is now much faster, but also has some bugs. The only solution known at this moment for removing these bugs is to uninstall and reinstall the application.

You can now download Viber for Windows Phone 4.0.1.0 for free via Windows Phone Store. Keep in mind that the application is only compatible with devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up.
